NEW HAVEN POLICE MAKE TWO ARRESTS FOR TWO SEPARATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS
(8/12/2008) NEW HAVEN- Late Sunday evening, 31-year-old Jamel Morrison was arrested after turning himself in for the double shooting that occurred on July 21 at the corner of Orchard St and Henry St. The victims of that shooting were 20-year-old Christopher Armfield and 23-year-old Daniel Armfield. The incident apparently occurred when Morrison approached the victims in an argument over stolen dogs. Morrison has been charged with two counts of Assault 1st degree, Assault 2nd with a Firearm, Criminal Attempt Assault 1st, criminal Possession of a Pistol by a Convicted Felon and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. At this time, Morrison is being held on $250,000 bond.
Abdur Terrell, an 18-year-old New Haven resident, was arrested on Monday for the May 5th shooting of 18-year-old Tyrone Fain. This incident took place at 163 County Street near the Goffe Street Park while a soft ball game was in progress. Terrell was charged with Assault 1st degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Abdur is being held on a $150,000 bond
